NRP boats now have live video streaming capability

Maryland’s Natural Resources Police recently added another tool to help fulfill their role as the state’s maritime homeland security agency. NRP boats now have live video streams. Before, the video feed on boats could only be stored locally and downloaded once the boat was docked. […] Besides officer safety, the live video feed could also help in matters of public safety. [Candus Thomson, Public Info. Officer] said the live video feed will help NRP in emergency situations. “Let’s just say, for example, you have a boat in distress in the Chesapeake Bay,” Thomson said. “An officer with a real-time streaming camera on board gives commanders a real good sense of what’s going down and what other resources could be used.” – Josh Bollinger,Star Democrat via CecilWhig
