Looking to shake things up, Pandora may offer 24 hours of ad-free listening for $1

While the option is a welcome addition, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense financially to the average user, unless you find yourself in one of those rare situations in which ads just aren’t an option. If you’re really a fan of the service, it’s a lot more cost-effective to pay 5 bucks for 30 days, than $1 for 24 hours. However, in uncertain times, there are no bad ideas.
