HBO’s Sesame Street is the battlefield in the streaming wars for kids’ TV

Just how much does kids content matter to streaming services? Research firm eMarketer estimates that by 2019, digital video penetration among kids aged 11 and under will reach 74%, up from 68% in 2013. They also say that most kids are gifted an electronic device capable of streaming video between the ages of eight and 11. Netflix says that roughly half of all of their subscribers (more than 30 million people worldwide) regularly watch kids’ content.
