Foxtel mulls putting Netflix on Apple TV-style service

Foxtel is considering putting Netflix on its forthcoming Apple TV-style streaming device as part of concerted efforts to neutralize the threats posed by the US streaming giant. Fairfax Media also understands Foxtel is urging content suppliers such as Discovery, the BBC and Viacom to sell it video-on-demand rights for all series of their key shows in an effort to bolster the “Anytime” library on its cable and satellite service, which has 2.7 million customers.
