BitTorrent to Launch Streaming Video Services Appoints new Co-CEOs

The service, which does not yet have a name, will offer linear programming, similar to traditional broadcast television, but uses the BitTorrent Live protocol devised to distribute live video data, the company said. BitTorrent plans on distributing the service as an application for Android and iOS devices, including Apple TV, rather than use a dedicated streaming device such as the Roku Streaming Stick, Amazon Fire TV or Google Chromecast. It will launch with a free tier, a paid subscription option and pay-per-view content. – Alex Pham, Forbes http://ift.tt/1SyXImp
