Livestream of Trump Tower Lobby Shows Who’s Going to Meet Our President-Elect

It’s unclear how long ABC will leave this livestream up, but we suspect half the reason might be to make sure president-elect Donald J. Trump doesn’t sneak out on the media. So far, Trump has tried to dodge them every chance he gets. And who can blame him? It’s not like the President of the United States is a job that’s infamous for stripping people of their personal privacy. – Matt Novak, Gizmodo http://ift.tt/2fMODsu

You can now add data overlays to your GoPro footage

The “telemetry feature,” as GoPro is calling it, can show things like speed, altitude, and g-force. It will also pull data from the GPS unit inside the Hero 5 Black to generate a map of where you were and how far you went as you captured that footage. Users will be able to move these telemetry overlays around and resize them, too. The data overlays won’t, however, work with the new Hero 5 Session, which doesn’t have a GPS unit. – Sean O’Kane, The Verge http://ift.tt/2g7nEHk

‘Roman Empire: Reign of Blood’ Is An Uncensored Look At Ancient History

Roman Empire: Reign of Blood marks the latest example of a new style of docuseries that blends the authoritative talking heads with high gloss drama. So the show is half historical drama, half academia. Classics scholars narrate the history while actors play it out. Because Roman Empire: Reign of Blood is on Netflix, it’s able to be the unrated visual feast I described. Our first introductions to young Commodus include a vicious life-or-death brawl in the arena and a soft core threeway. – Meghan O’Keefe, Decider http://ift.tt/2g3K7sm

Top Netflix Exec on ‘Making a Murderer’ Season 2 and Chris Rock’s $40M Payday

As Netflix grows its 86.7 million global subscribers and its content budget balloons past $6 billion, Lisa Nishimura will have ammo to compete in the competitive doc space once dominated by HBO. Netflix’s deep pockets extend to the other half of her job, too, where as the head of comedy programming, she made a big bet on Chelsea Handler and paid a reported $40 million to lure Chris Rock back for two stand-up specials. – Natalie Jarvey, The Hollywood Reporter http://ift.tt/2g20Ry8
