Quentin Tarantino Is Not A Fan Of Netflix Or Any Other Streaming Services, Son

photo; Jason Merritt/Getty Images, Uproxx

I am not excited about streaming at all. I like something hard and tangible in my hand. And I can’t watch a movie on a laptop. I don’t use Netflix at all. I don’t have any sort of delivery system. I have the videos from Video Archives. They went out of business, and I bought their inventory. Probably close to eight thousand tapes and DVDs. Probably close to eight thousand tapes and DVDs. I have a bunch of DVDs and a bunch of videos, and I still tape movies off of television on video so I can keep my collection going. – Quentin Tarantino via Kimberly Ricci, UPROXX

The Better Business Bureau Isn’t Too Happy About Those Rob Lowe DirecTV Commercials

Apparently, some of the claims made in the ads rankled Comcast, and the cable behemoth lodged a complaint with the Council of Better Business Bureaus’ National Advertising Division, […] The oversight group took issue with several specific claims. It said that DirecTV couldn’t prove that it has better signal reliability (“Creepy Rob Lowe”), shorter customer service wait times (“Painfully Awkward Rob Lowe”) or better picture and sound quality (“Far Less Attractive Rob Lowe”) than cable. The company also couldn’t support an implied claim (“Scrawny Arms Rob Lowe”) that its sports programming beats cable. – Jason Tabrys, UPROXX

‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Being Blamed For Doctor’s Death

Martin Short’s plastic surgeon character on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt […] is hard to look at for too long. His face is swollen, his posture is reminiscent of Igor from Young Frankenstein, and his skin color is not so much tan as it is microwave-burned. Dr. Franff seems like a wholly original creation, but he actually looks a lot like famed celebrity dermatologist Dr. Fredric Brandt, who was found dead at his home on Sunday, and some are blaming Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. – Josh Kurp, UPROXX

Among the bidders chasing the rights to the “show about nothing” are Hulu, Amazon and Yahoo. The deal could fetch a price well north of half a million dollars per episode, the people said. There are 180 Seinfeld episodes. – Merrill Barr, UPROXX
